We are not what happened to us, we are what we wish to become.

Carl Jung

At Colorado Healing Collective we believe that the healing of the individual is the key to the healing of our world. Like braided sweet grass, when the individual is healed, our families, our communities, our nation, and ultimately the environment and the planet begin to heal as well. We believe that every individual, regardless of past experiences and current challenges, has the ability to heal, to build a healthier, more meaningful life, and to be a contributing member of an interconnected community. We believe that through psychotherapy, training, education, and building an awareness and acceptance of self and others, each of us can be important facilitators of personal and global change.

As a psychotherapy and training center, Colorado Healing Collective (CHC) provides an array of  counseling services by Master’s level interns (students who have obtained an undergraduate degree and are working towards masters degrees in counseling psychology or social work).  Working with a graduate level pre-licensed therapist means your therapist is currently in their final step of training to receive their degree and eventual licensure as either a licensed professional counselor (LPC) or licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). In the Boulder County area, this means most interns are students attending Naropa University, Regis University, Colorado State University, and the University of Colorado.

Every intern providing services under the umbrella of Colorado Healing Collective is actively engaged in multiple forms of supervision. All interns at CHC will be plugged into a matrix of clinical supervision, headed by three highly skilled and experienced licensed supervisors (with over 70 years’ experience, accumulated). CHC interns also participate in “case consultation” group supervision, as well as monthly training sessions which cover a myriad of evidence-based therapy techniques and approaches in the field.

Under supervision, your graduate level therapist is receiving excellent support and training on how to best serve your needs. Although it will be just you and your therapist in the physical space together, your therapy process is held and supported by skilled clinicians (all of whom adhere to the same HIPAA rules of confidentiality). This breadth of knowledge and wrap-around support of the clinical team and fellow interns allows for a solid foundation for your therapeutic experience.

Our interns are with us for 11 months which allows for plenty of time to establish a therapeutic relationship and opportunities to meet a number of treatment goals. At the end of the interns’ time at Colorado Healing Collective, clients will have the opportunity to choose a new intern with which to work. Interns will also have the opportunity to run several therapy groups while at Colorado Healing Collective, which allows for the therapy experience to grow and “round out”, and for interns to collect even more bits of knowledge and training.

There is never another time that a therapist has quite as much clinical support, training, and oversight as they do during their graduate internship. It's a truly unique and enriching experience for both intern and client.
